New Leaf Studio is 20 years old

Landscape style birthday cake for New Leaf Studio Bristol landscape architects

New Leaf Studio turns 20 this year

It seems amazing that 20 years have passed so swiftly, but looking back we have come a long way. From our early beginnings working from a partially finished kitchen extension in Bath back in 1996, using drawing boards and tracing paper, and borrowing a single computer, moving to our first “proper” office in 1999, and then undertaking our first project making full use of CAD in 2002. In that time we have also seen the Fax machine become a key means of communication and then disappear from use as email steadily took over.

We are pleased to say that we are still working with one or two clients for whom we worked in the first year, and one of our very first projects has just reappeared for a potential further phase of input.

Gloucester Cathedral secures £4.1 million funding

on .

We were delighted to hear at the end of last week, that Gloucester Cathedral was successful in its stage 2 bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund, securing £4,160,300 of funding towards their £6m Project Pilgrim - Phase One.

This means that the scheme for the new Cathedral Green, that we have been working in since 2004 can now proceed. Work is expected to start on site in late summer 2016, so over the next few months we will be busy developing working drawings and seeking tenders from suitably experienced contractors.

The Cathedral Green project coincides with significant works within the cathedral and all will be undertaken while the building remains operational. This presents some interesting challenges in planning the procurement and phasing of the works, requiring close co-ordination among the project team.
